A manga that for many counts as a masterpiece.
I read that the anime realization is rather mediocre.
But I myself rather steer clear of Berserk.

(The manga was published for over 30 years, with a few chapters coming out every now and then.
Between the chapters there were always long breaks.
This was due to the poor health of the mangaka.
Fans had to wait for 1 or 2 chapters every year… if they were really lucky.
But now that the mangaka has died, it was apparently decided that Berserk will probably not be continued.)

???? Charlotte
  • Amnesia
  • Rushed ending
  • Bad end
  • No romantic conclusion yet

Topic:
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen ‘Charlotte’.
It’s about teenagers who have superpowers.

Thereby the female main character meets the male main character.
She helps him with his superpowers in order to save the world, I think.
In the process, they get closer, and I had thought that at the end of the anime, there would be a happy ending for the two.

Well, when it gets to the end of the anime, everything happens really fast.
In the last episode, the anime goes full speed and rushes through various scenes, showing how the main male character uses his superpowers to save the world.

After finally saving the world, he loses all his memories (including those along with the main female character).
The final scene then concludes with the main male character being driven in a wheelchair by the main female character.

The amnesia he gets I found unnecessary and there is no romantic conclusion either.

If he had gotten his memory back and had a romantic ending with the female main character, it very likely would have saved the anime in the end.

I forgot

Freezing was one of my first anime, so I can’ t remember it very well anymore.
The only thing I can remember was that I had to turn it off at a certain scene.

This was the first time I needed to take a break from watching anime for a few days to calm down.
I got really insanely mad because it disgusted me so much.

There is a flashback scene in which it is shown how the main female character gets abused and sexually harassed by her half-brother.
And it also looked to me like he was planning to rape her.

That was actually already the end of the line for me.

But what happened after that is completely beyond my understanding.
She simply forgives her brother for his past actions.
And the main male character just behaved like a coward.

Thus, the anime became trash for me.

After some research, whether she was raped or not, the opinion is divided.

Many are unsure.

Some say that because they were naked and the main female character was in a certain position, it could be possible that it happened.

Others say that it was not the main female character but instead a different female character.

However, a good description was also this one:

It seems the main female character was so manipulated and traumatized by her half-brother that she didn’t care if he raped her or not.

She told him something like:
“Just do what you want…. Rape me if you have to.”

But since he apparently had some “human values” in him, he slapped her and told her that incest was wrong, even though he actually really loved her very much.

Topic:

I stopped watching the anime after episode 6 because the romance didn’t develop in the direction I was hoping for.

There are three main characters in ‘Gangsta’.
A character who is deaf, who is friends with the Playboy character.
They then decide to include the prostitute.

Usually this is not an anime for me, however I wanted to give it a chance because it was well rated.

Well, there was a point where I thought the deaf character and the prostitute might develop a romance.
He helped her escape from prostitution and always watches over her.
And they kind of had a warm chemistry with each other.
Although he remains distant from her, he does show concern, which allows her to slowly build trust.

But then episode 6 happened.

The prostitute wasn’t quite herself, and was kind of on drugs or something.
Suddenly she kisses the Playboy character, which then immediately made me very upset and I dropped the anime.

This scene really infuriated me as I felt it as NTR.

After that, I stopped watching the anime any further because I was so grossed out by it.

I saw the first season because at first I didn’t know it was a harem.
The anime started off really sweetly, and I really liked Kosaki Onodera.
But then unfortunately more and more girls came along, which then put me off.
Thereupon I stopped watching after the first season.

The Tsundere Chitoge Kirisaki, of course.

Unfortunately Kosaki Onodera did not win 🙁
Well, but at least she got a nice conclusion in the first season for that.

(2 Seasons)

???? Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji
Wolf Girl and Black Prince
  • Playboy Charakter
  • Love triangle
  • Romantic conclusion

Topic:
School Romance – This is about the female main character who falls in love with the playboy main character.

I’ve seen ‘Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji’ twice, but finished each time with a different feeling.

When I first saw the anime, it was at the time when I was just starting to really get into anime.

Back then I was still very inexperienced with the romance genre and love in general.
Therefore, I actually found the anime quite cute because I just watched it and also didn’t have any ulterior motives thereby.
I was clueless and just let it wash over me.
I had no conditions at that time, went for it and was simply satisfied and happy afterwards.

Later, when I started to get more intensively engaged with anime, and especially romance anime, I rewatched the anime.

And I noticed two things that I never would have considered to in the past.
Namely, the two things I already listed above.

First, the main male character is a Playboy.
He has several suitors and women he doesn’t particularly care for who come in and out of his home.

Second, there is a love triangle in the anime at a later point.

There is a male side character who is rather introverted, but has interest in the main character.
And I put myself in that character a little bit at the time.

Here’s the thing:
The female main character and the playboy main character, have a quarrel and don’t talk to each other anymore.
And… the introverted side character then really makes an effort with the female main character and even gets his chance to go on a date with her.

But, since the female main character can’t get over the playboy, she eventually rejects the side character.
Which actually hit me a little bit at that moment, because I know situations like that all too well from myself.

Well, nonetheless, the anime has a romantic conclusion at the end.
The female main character and the male playboy main character get together, and the playboy stops being a playboy and ultimately takes the relationship with the female main character seriously.

  • Sad/Bad End:
Again another – Death of a love partner !!
    She dies/dissolves during the wedding.
    (OH MAN!!)
  • No romantic conclusion

Topic:
‘Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann’ is a Mecha anime.
There are many epic fights with big robots.

As mentioned above, the story begins very humorously.
But a death of a love partner happens, and after that it goes downhill and becomes more and more dramatic.

I kept watching until the time skip came.
Then one thing happened and then it became too much for me and I ended up dropping the anime.

It starts with the main character wanting to marry the female main character.
Really great, I thought to myself, it’s going in a good direction again.

But then came a very strange scene.

The friend of the main character, who was now a supervisor, has secrets and intends to betray the main character.
A side heroine who I thought was pretty cool and had a good personality was attracted to him.

That then completely shocked me and that was the point where I finally dropped the anime.

I finally realized that the romance in the anime is just being exploited.
It serves the sole purpose of creating drama and manipulating weak people to make them cry.
So that these very people can then label the anime a “masterpiece.”

Well anyway, from then on I spoiled the rest for myself.

I only know that the final battle is described to be epic.

And my guesses about the conclusion of the anime were correct.
The ending from a romantic point of view is anything but beautiful.

For the second time the death of a love partner!
And that even at the wedding.
The main characters get married, but the female main character’s body dissolves, as she is only a virtual life form.
