Shinichi Sakurai and Hana Uzaki get drunk from time to time, and occasionally overdrink.
In the process, certain things sometimes happen… which are forgotten the next day due to their blackout.

Hana Uzaki is visiting Shinichi Sakurai and plans to get him drunk.

When he is drunk, he dozes off and says “I love you…” .
This shocks Hana Uzaki and she immediately shoves 2 cans of beer down her throat.
Shinichi Sakurai ends the sentence with “… for your cooking skills.” .

I’m not quite sure if she heard the second part of the sentence.
However, the next day, Hana Uzaki only remembers the first part, while Shinichi Sakurai remembers nothing at all.

Season 1, Episode 12

The second time, there is a Christmas dinner at the Uzaki house.
Shinichi Sakurai and Hana Uzaki get drunk again.

When the evening ends, Hana Uzaki and her father accompany Shinichi Sakurai home because he is too drunk.
Hana Uzaki also takes him upstairs to his apartment and prepares his bed.

Then Shinichi Sakurai topples over and falls onto the bed with Hana Uzaki, landing on top of her.
He sways and stares at her, then leans very close to her… and then falls unconscious to the side onto his pillow and immediately falls asleep.
(I don’t know if that was supposed to be a kiss, I doubt it 🤔)

Hana Uzaki was initially taken by surprise at the moment, but lay there calmly and expectantly.
But she pulled herself together, covered Shinichi Sakurai and then went home with a red head.

The next day, Shinichi Sakurai tells Sakurai that he had another blackout and can’t remember anything, …. which he later admits to himself is a lie.

Season 2, Episode 13

Bittersweet Ending in Anime

The episode ends with a touching scene at a train station where Kyoko Hori and Izumi Miyamura are about to part ways, likely for college or work.
This moment, while filled with love and commitment to each other, carries the weight of the unknown future and the sadness of physical separation.
The scene is rich with emotion, highlighting the beauty of their bond but also the pain of parting, even if temporarily.

The AI labeled it as a happy ending, but I changed it to bittersweet because I didn’t think it sounded happy at all.

Even if I don’t know exactly what is happening in this scene, I find long-distance relationships very risky.

I’m only saying this because I’ve heard from many people that it often doesn’t work.
But I don’t want to insinuate anything against the couple because this anime seems to be very wholsome.

Apart from that, we unfortunately don’t know much more about what has happened in that meantime.
There are many unanswered questions, such as: “What exactly are they doing and where?” – “How far away are they?” – “How often do they interact with each other?” (Maybe they meet weekly?) etc.

I might change this as soon as I’ve seen the anime myself, so for now take this information with caution.
